- Nigerians on social media have reacted to this, explaining why the prizes cannot be the same
A Nigerian man identified as Smith Gbenga Lawson has caused quite a stir on social media after pointing out that Big Brother Naija show rewards contestants more than Cowbellpedia.
Big Brother Naija is a reality TV show that brings people of all walks of life to live under one roof for a few weeks and compete among themselves.
Cowbellpedia is a Nigerian national mathematics television quiz show that tests students' mathematics prowess and rewards the best.

While Big Brother Naija rewards the winner with a whopping sum of money and other prizes, Cowbellpedia winner goes home with less than five per cent of the reward BBNaija winner gets.
Taking to his Twitter page, Smith wrote:
"Cowbell Mathematics winner #N1m and BBNaija Winner #N30m...haven't we lost our priority?"
His question generated some reactions as Nigerians flooded his comment section with their opinions.
@LOdewale wrote:
"Truth is I understand what you are trying to say but the truth is the BBN is business and a money spinner for the sponsors. The payment is a reward for helping them earn while the other is a donation more or less."
@EDADURI commented:
"The platforms, process, sponsors and rewards are different because the aims are different too."
@diditoryem said:
"The organisers of these shows don't generate the same income though."

In a previous report by Legit.ng, controversial author and lawyer Reno Omokri took to social media to lambast fans of the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija.
For many Nigerian youths, BBNaija has been a source of entertainment as many take to various social media platforms to campaign for their favourite housemates.
Omokri, who doesn't seem to like the show as he once noted that it is a distraction from the reality of things happening in the country, shared his feeling about people who are so involved in it.
