Two OOU Students Abducted In Ogun State Regain Freedom From Bandits
- The students forcefully taken away by unknown gunmen last weekend have been rescued
- The police say they were reduced without any ransom paid to the kidnappers
- The governor of the state had earlier given a marching order to police authorities to rescue the students unhurt

The two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye abducted by armed bandits have regained their freedom.
The Ogun state police command confirmed their release to Channels Television on Tuesday night, March 16.
The police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, noted that the students, identified as Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola, returned unhurt.
He said the victims who have spent two nights in the custody of their abductors would be reunited with their families thereafter.

Asked if any money was paid to secure their release, the command’s spokesman stated that no ransom was paid, to the best of his knowledge.
The students were kidnapped by armed men on Sunday night while returning to their hall of residence located in the Olowu area in Yewa North local government area.
Shortly after they were abducted, Oyeyemi had said that the police launched a manhunt in conjunction with local hunters to rescue the students.
Vanguard reports that the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, had earlier directed the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the kidnapping of the two students and ensure they are rescued alive.
In a related development, unknown gunmen have abducted a Catholic priest identified as Harrison Prhinyovaw in Delta state.
The priest who is said to be in charge of St John's Catholic Church in the Obinoma area of the state was said to have been abducted at about 8:00pm on Monday, March 15 at a bad spot in Abraka, Ethiope East local government area of the state.
The Delta state police command has confirmed the abduction of the priest.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives may soon pass a Bill for Act, to permit Nigerians from the age of eighteen, to carry arms for self-defence.
A bill to that effect, entitled: “Firearms Amendment Bill,” has already been sponsored by Honourable Adejoro Adeogun, a federal lawmaker from Ondo state.
