Yaphet Kotto: James Bond villain and Aliens Actor Dies at 81

The film and movie industry has yet again been hit by bad news.
Yaphet Kotto, a revered actor popularly known for his roles in Alien and James Bond's film, Live and Let Die is dead, Legit.ng has learnt.
According to Variety.com, the actor who also made a name for himself through the television series Life on the Street died at the age of 81.
His unfortunate death was confirmed by his agent Ryan Goldhar.
Well, before Ryan's confirmation, the news of Kotto's death had earlier on been made public by the actor's wife Tessie Sinahon.
Legit.ng has learnt Tessie first broke the news through her Facebook account on Monday, March 15, night.

Tessie wrote on FB:
“I’m saddened and still in shocked by the passing of my husband Yaphet of 24 years. He died last night around 10:30 pm Philippine time. You played a villain in some of your movies but for me, you’re a real hero and to a lot of people also. A good man, a good father, a good husband and a decent human being, very rare to find. One of the best actor in Hollywood a Legend. Rest in Peace Honey, I’m gonna miss you every day, my best friend, my rock.”

The late actor was born in New York City on November 15, 1939, and started studying acting and theatre at the Actors Mobile Theater Studio at only 16.

Kotto will be remembered for his role as a technician named Dennis Parker in Alien which was released in 1976.
He also played a very important role in the action film The Running Man, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1987, in which he played William Laughlin.
The actor was also big on Television having played Al Giardello in the NBC series Life on the Street from 1993 to 1999.
In October 2020, Legit.ng reported that Sean Connery known for his role as James Bond, 007 died at the age of 90, he was best.
The BBC reported that the actor had been unwell recently and wrote an amazing obituary. Connery's role as the suave secret agent helped develop the spy genre and he was arguably the best James Bond.
