Femi Adesina, media and publicity adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, said he has concluded that the greatest problem of the country is the people themselves.
The media aide who made this known on Thursday, March 11, in a piece "Wars and Rumours of War", published on his Facebook page asked Nigerians why they seem to hate their own country.
The presidential spokesman cautioned those who do nothing but find faults in the country, saying they talk of war as something they long for.
While warning the people against the disintegration, destabilization, and outright war, Adesina said the repercussion of a crisis can better be imagined.
He went on to note that although the country is not perfect, many should do their best to make it work.
Adesina added that wishing evil upon the nation is not the solution to Nigeria's problems.
He said:
"Don’t Nigerians carry around giant-sized grudges against themselves, against their leaders, against the next ethnic group, and against their own very land?
I have seen enough to make me conclude that the greatest problem of Nigeria are Nigerians themselves. They seem to hate their country.
There was that atheist who said on his death bed. “I hate everybody. I hate God. I even hate myself.” That seems to be the experience of a good number of Nigerians."

Similarly, Adesina stated that only God can help Nigeria defeats its challenges on security. The media aide made this known on Thursday, January 14, asking Nigerians if they ever prayed for the troops at the frontline of the war against insurgency.
According to him, Nigeria must include the men of Nigerian security forces in their prayers while praying for material things like cars and money.
