Cardi B has extended her support to fellow artiste Selena Gomez amid rumours that the former Disney star is looking to retire from the industry. Speaking to Vogue during a recent interview, Gomez said:
“ 'Lose You to Love Me' I felt was the best song I've ever released, and for some people it still wasn't enough.
“I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I'm so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it'll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music."

“I don’t think Selena should retire. She makes good music & her fans love her. I think she needs one more Era. An edgy one that no one ever seen her as. I would love to give her some ideas.”
The rapper went on to say that she was defending Gomez because she liked her:
“I defend her cause she is such a sweetheart in person. Us celebs get picked apart all the time but she is just to sweet to go through that.”
Social media users responded to Cardi’s comments on her social media page. Twitter user Realzfaded said:
“Stop this madness, girlie doesn't know how to sing for her life, let it go already, it's about time.”
Souvenirgomezz said:
“Yes Cardi I agree!!! But it scks the award shows keep snubbing her. Especially the Grammys. Truly a shame.”
Sabbywhyexhale said:
“Please tell her we love her, I know she already knows but she truly doesn't understand her impact on us. Most of us wouldn't be alive if it weren't for her and she needs to understand that.”
Stanjoealwyn said:
“Exactly what she needs is a dark era to hit back to her haters, no more killing them with kindness.”
Adelesremedy said:
“I agree! I love her music and I feel like she should do something no one would expect. I also want her to get into acting more because it definitely suits her.”
