Music legend Anita Baker declares war, ready to fight over her masters

American soul singer Anita Baker has made the decision to fight for her masters. Taking to social media, the artist spoke about how she's carried out all of her contracts but is still being made to fight to own her music. Anita's post said:

"They no longer own my name and likeness. And by law, 30 year old masters are to be returned."
The singer said that her masters are meant to be hers now but her record label deals are making her have to fight for it. Anita said that she's ready to fight and she's not going to give up. She kindly asked her fans not to advertise or buy her music from companies.

Anita also took the time to tell her fans that streaming companies are not paying artists their worth either. She thanked her fans for their support in streaming her timeless because but said:
"Thank you for sending me your love but let's not advertise Spotify Streaming, which is a publicly traded company with $50 million valuation but doesn't pay artists/creators their worth."
The soul singer spoke about how much money artists make per stream, saying they still have to pay tax on top of that. Anita has stated that they are not making as much money as fans think they are.
