Troops capture sophisticated weapons from Boko Haram, ISWAP in Borno
- The Nigerian military has decimated the ranks of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists
- This followed the clearance of some villages and enclaves of the insurgents
- Some of the captured weapons include: 2 Browny Machine Gun, 20 AK 47 Rifles and 5 FN Rifles

Boko Haram terrorists and members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have suffered heavy defeat at the hands of the Nigerian troops, the Army disclosed in a statement sighted by Legit.ng.
This comes as combined troops of Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole and 402 Special Forces Brigade cleared all villages and enclaves hitherto inhabited by the terrorists around Chikun Gudu, Kerenoa axis and environs in the ongoing Phase II of Operation "TURA TAKAIBANGO".
Despite the fact that the troops encountered heavy fleets of terrorists, 25 members of the sect were neutralised while the following weapons were recovered.
Here is the list of captured weapons from the deadly terrorists:
1. 2 Browny Machine Gun
2. 20 AK 47 Rifles
3. 5 FN Rifles
4. 2 60mm Motar Tube
5. 2 General Purpose Machine Guns.
6. 3 Anti Air Craft Guns
7. 2 Automatic Grenade Launchers
8. 2 Gun trucks
9. One CJTF Hilux
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Nigerian soldiers engaged Boko Haram insurgents in a gun battle on Sunday, March 7.
According to reports, traffic along the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway was stopped for over three hours while the battle raged on.
After the shootout, soldiers were said to have escorted a long convoy of stranded travellers to Damaturu.
