Taiwo Adisa, the chief press secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, has confirmed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to lure his principal to the party.
The Punch reports Adisa said the APC was aware that they could not raise any candidate that can match Makinde and that is the reason they want to lure him to their party by all means.
Legit.ng gathered that Adisa, who made this known in a statement on Monday, March 8, said that the plot to lure Makinde to the party did not come as a surprise.
According to him, the APC was fascinated by Makinde’s achievements despite the challenges present.
Adisa stated:
“One is not surprised that some elements in the APC are busy debating the possibility of Governor Makinde’s defection to the party."
He said a close watcher of the GSM magic cannot be surprised that the APC in Oyo state is really envious of the great attainments of the governor.
Adisa noted that rather than claim Makinde wants to defect to the APC, the truth the APC elements should tell the world is that their party is attempting to lure the performing governor in order to avert a woeful performance against him in 2023.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state was asked to shelve his alleged plan to dump the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for the APC.
It was reported that the warning was given on Monday, March 8, by some groups within the party which include the Oyo Solidarity Front (OSF), Oyo Progressives Resolute (OPR), and Oyo Sustainable Development Movement (OSDM).
The groups noted that Makinde betrayed all those who worked for him to emerge as governor, leading to the collapse of the coalition.
