The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner parted ways with the Saudi Arabian club in October 2020 having already spent two years with them.
He left them in search of more competitive action in Europe and he was almost signed by West Bromwich Albion in January but the deal collapsed towards the end of the window.
The ex-Leicester City man will now be hoping to try again when the summer window opens in a bid to make coach Gernot Rohr's squad for the 2022 AFCON Championship in Cameroon.
There's already a contention whether he should be invited for the qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin considering his match rustiness since he has not played competitive football in a while.
Meanwhile, below are some of the good stuff Al Nassr fans are saying about the Nigerian forward a few months after leaving them.
One fan said:
"Ahmed Moussa, Al-Nasr fans love you so much, and you are a creative and skilled player. I hope to see you again at Al-Nasr Saudi Club."
Another one said:
"We love you so much, my dear brother, you are a big star. We need you now."
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr finally gives reasons for inviting club-less Musa for AFCON 2022 qualifiers
Musa made his Super Eagles debut in 2010 and has gone ahead to score 15 goals in 95 appearances - making him the third most cap player after Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo.
Legit.ng earlier reported that ex-Nigeria internationals Duke Udi and Tarila Okorowanta have told Gernot Rohr to leave Ahmed Musa out from the list of players he will invite for the AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho later this month.
The winger has been without a club since he parted ways with Saudi Arabia's top side Al Nassr last October in search of a more competitive league in Europe.
He came close to joining West Bromwich Albion during the winter transfer window earlier this year but the deal failed to pull through eventually.
