Nigerian international Victor Osimhen marked his return into the Napoli squad with a well-taken goal helping his side to a 3-1 home win over Bologna.
The 22-year-old missed his side’s last three games following an injury after he collided with an Atalanta player back in February.
He came on in the 53rd minute of the encounter and it only took him twelve minutes to make it 2-0 for his side after he powered home the ball into the net.
The Super Eagles striker has now scored three goals in the Italian top-flight this season. His last goal in the league was on November 8, 2020. Lorenzo Insigne grabbed a brace in the encounter.
Napoli occupy sixth place on 47 points in the league table.
And Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has described Victor Osimhen's debut season at Napoli as unlucky citing injury and coronavirus infection as the major problems.
The youngster recently returned to action for the Italian club recently but has not been able to command adequate playing time.
He initially picked up a shoulder injury while in action for the national team last November then his situation got complicated after being quarantined for the deadly COVID-19.
Rohr is confident to see the former youth international back in action for his Serie A outfit having failed to make the matchday since February 21 due to the head injury.
Meanwhile, William D’Avila, the agent of Super Eagles’ forward Victor Osimhen, has disclosed that one of the major aims of the striker is to ensure Napoli qualify for the Champions League.
He currently holds the status of Africa's most expensive player after his move from Lille to Napoli last summer.
His signature cost the Italian League giants about €83 million and the report values the former youth international at €50 million (about N29 billion). And this makes him the most valued Nigerian footballer.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi was in action during Everton’s 1-0 victory over Southampton in the Premier League on February 1.
Richarlison scored the only goal of the game when he tucked home as early as the 9th minute in a mouth-watering fixture at the Goodison Park.
Nigeria’s Iwobi was introduced in the 87th minute of the encounter and despite playing a few minutes, he stole the stats.
The former Arsenal star completed more take-ons than any other Everton player in the game. He completed 11 incredible touches, with two key passes.
