Living legend: Ogun governor showers praise on Obasanjo as former president celebrates 84th birthday

Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun state, has felicitated with Nigeria's former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, as he clocks 84 on Friday, March 5.
In a brief statement posted on his Instagram page, Governor Abiodun showered praises on the former president, describing him as a "living legend".
He also prayed that the former president continues to age gracefully in excellent health.
The statement reads:
"Sir, you remain, for us, an inspiration as a living legend and symbol of the Ogun Standard of Excellence.
"As you clock 84 today, our prayer is that you keep trudging on in excellent health on the global plain and may every stage of your life be more exciting than the previous.
"Happy, memorable and joyous birthday, Baba!"
In another report, Obasanjo has said that the late governor of Lagos state, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, served the country principally through journalism and newspaper management before becoming an active politician.
Legit.ng reports that in his condolence letter to the wife of the late first civilian governor, Alhaja Sikirat Abimbola, a copy of which was made available to the newsmen by his media assistant, Kehinde Akinyemi, in Abeokuta, Obasanjo said Jakande deserved all accolades poured on him over his death.
Obasanjo who went down memory lane on the pen profession of the late governor stated that his success catapulted him to the height he got to in the public office.

Meanwhile, Obasanjo has reminded all and sundry that a day of reckoning is coming.
According to the former president, from the look of things, people are not getting ready for the kingdom of God.
Speaking on Saturday, February 6, during the dedication of the St. Moses Orimolade Holy Land, the Cenotaph of Cherubim and Seraphim Church founder, the ex-president urged everyone to be prepared.
