Yahaya Bello meets Buhari in Aso Rock, speaks on his presidential ambition

- President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that the unity of the country is non-negotiable

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state on Thursday, March 4, held a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House.

Channels TV reports that the governor said he has received calls from a significant number of persons asking him to run for president in 2023.

Legit.ng gathered that Bello also conveyed the president’s message that Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable as he promised a more secure and prosperous nation in the days ahead.

Speaking on the COVID-19 vaccination exercise, the governor maintained that coronavirus is not a novel disease, adding that he believes in vaccinations.

He, however, warned Nigerians to be careful when taking any form of the vaccine.

Governor Bello’s meeting with the president comes less than 24-hours after the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN) agreed to lift its ban on the supply of food to the southern part of the country.

The leadership of the unions took the decision following an extensive dialogue and deliberation with Governor Bello, at the state Governor’s lodge in Abuja, on Wednesday, March 3.

The groups were led by the AUFCDN president, Mohammed Tahir, with a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode who was also in attendance at the meeting.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the political relationship between Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state and ex-minister of aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode seems to be blossoming by the day.

It was reported that both men seem to have struck a relationship even beyond politics as they belong to opposing divides politically.

While Osun-born Fani-Kayode is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Bello is an emerging force in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Bello visited the Abuja home of Fani-Kayode on Wednesday, March 3, and the photos were shared on social media by the former minister.

In a related report, the leadership of cattle and foodstuff dealers has decided to lift the blockade placed on the supply of food to the southern parts of Nigeria.

The group under the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN) arrived at the decision after a meeting with some governors in Abuja on Wednesday, March 3.

The group said they decided to end the industrial action following the appeals made by the governors to them.
