The Nation is reporting that the Imo state House of Assembly has impeached its majority leader, Uche Ogbuagu.
Ogbuagu who represents Ikeduru state constituency was said to have been impeached by a majority vote.
The lawmaker is one of the house members who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after the Supreme Court sacked ex-Governor Emeka Ihedioha from office.
The popularity of Ogbuagu took a massive nosedive after he left for the PDP with many saying the move is a betrayal of Ihedioha.

“Uche you have lost credibility, I don't know the promises made to you, that made you compromise your reputation and stand, but you should remember that the future is unknown.”
Toby-Hertz Nwokocha:
“It's a pity that since you licked your vomit and by so doing, leaked who you actually are. My regard and respect for you have waned. You may claim that you have the inalienable right to associate with anyone or group but you blew your worth so loudly that everything about you appeared to be a new way to go.
“I am sure your constituents may have seen that things are not what they seem. I am also hopeful that from now on, you will exercise a little bit of restraint in your deceitful propaganda particularly your avowed orchestrated messianic proclamation.
“With your action and utterances, we have seen all the sides of the politics of deceit. You had the opportunity to talk people into believing that there are some people who can play politics with an active conscience. Based on the scenario, I now know that the difference between good and bad politicians is exactly the difference between twelve and a dozen.”
Onyekachukwu Ifeacho Ibekwe:
“You've totally become all you castigated politicians for in the past, shame on you political prostitute!”
In a related development, the deputy speaker of the Ogun state House of Assembly, Dare Kadiri, was on Thursday, March 4, impeached.
The impeachment of Kadiri came after an allegation of gross misconduct was made against him by an investigative committee set-up by the speaker.
Meanwhile, the impeachment of Jude Agbaso as the deputy governor of Imo state has been nullified by the court, with the judgment coming after 8 years.
In a ruling on Monday, February 15, a presiding judge at the Owerri high court ruled in favour of Agbaso who was the deputy to a former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha.
