Man marries lady who accepted him when he was poor and hungry
- Bosco and Mercy's love story can be traced to when they were in high school many years ago
- By then, Bosco was from a low-income family, and had at one time, asked Mercy to give him ugali in exchange for avocadoes because he was hungry
- That exchange marked the beginning of a friendship so strong that despite being separated for years, they rekindled their love after meeting again
A Ugandan man has narrated how he fell in love with his high school sweetheart whom he married recently in a grand wedding.
Bosco Sekiranda said he met Mercy Lunkuse in high school in which he was a day scholar while she was boarding.
Speaking to My Wedding, Bosco said that his parents could not afford to give him pocket money for lunchtime in their days in school as they were poor.
Lunkuse, on the other hand, was business savvy and would sell food to other children during lunchtime.
At one time, the guy did not have anything for lunch except avocados, and he thought of an idea that sparked their friendship and love.
He said:
"I asked her to give me posho (ugali) in exchange for my avocados. I told her that all I needed was something to eat at school. She was quick to buy the idea. That’s how we became friends."
However, they did not have enough time to enjoy their newfound love as the lady's parents transferred her to another school, and they lost contacts.
