In another crises for the People Democratic Party (PDP), the Jigawa state chapter of the party has expelled its governorship candidate in the 2015 and 2019 elections.

Aminu Ibrahim was expelled for alleged anti-party activities.

Theis followed a dispute between Ibrahim and former governor Sule Lamido, whom he served as chief of staff when Lamido was governor.

This was disclosed by the PDP chairman in the state, Ibrahim Babandi.

He said:

“The decision was reached after investigation indicted the official of sabotaging the party from local government to state levels."

Meanwhile, Ibrahim said his expulsion is null and void because the state executive committee of the PDP is illegitimate and has no power to summon him before any committee.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that PDP in Oyo may fail to retain the state in 2023 if the gale of defection hitting the party continues.

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and the political group of ex-governor of the state, Rashidi Ladoja, have dissolved their structures into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Legit.ng gathered that the leadership of the two groups also directed their members to participate in the membership registration of the APC throughout the 351 wards and 33 local governments of the state.

The news outlet also reported that in what may have put a rest to his alleged plan to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has declared that he would continue to remain a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This was made known on Thursday, February 25, when the leadership of the party led by its chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, paid him a visit in Abuja.
