Nigerian movie star, Yomi Fabiyi, recently shared his two cents on helping others on social media.

According to the Nollywood actor, people should not help others at the detriment of their own development.

Fabiyi said that there was nothing wrong with helping others but people should also make their own growth a priority.

He stated:

“There is no crime helping others to grow but quite frankly you must make yourself a priority especially if you need growth too."

Explaining further, the actor said that if people abandon themselves to help others grow, once they grow, they would abandon their helper for his or her own lack of development.

His post read:

“If you abandon yourself and chase after other people's growth, particularly those leaning on you at some point or when they have never gathered shape, be rest assured when they grow or achieve a desired progress, you will be the first they will abandon for lack of growth.”
