There was chaos on Thursday, February 25, as a man who was driving against traffic hit a policeman off a bridge in Lagos.
The incident caused serious gridlock along the bridge as the driver was forced to stop his vehicle while pedestrians and an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) tried to contain the situation.
The rather tragic development was captured in a brief video clip shared by Punch.
Meanwhile, the police command in Anambra state had been thrown into mourning following the death of two officers.
Hoodlums killed 2 policemen in Ekwulobia, headquarters of Aguata local government area of Anambra state.
The suspects reportedly carted away the arms of the officers after they opened fire on them. The policemen were stationed at a checkpoint in the area when the hoodlums attacked.
This unfortunate incident is coming a day after suspected hoodlums attacked the World Bank Housing Estate Police Station, Abayi in Aba, and carted away weapons.
A source said the attack took the police by surprise, adding that the situation has created more tension in the city, as police officers are now working in fear.
In another report, a policeman was killed by gunmen in Delta state. After the criminals shot the mobile police officer, they waited and confirmed that he was dead. After this, they took his rifle and went away with it.
The incident occurred on Friday, December 11, along Jakpa Road, in Effurun, Uvwie local government area of Delta state. The killed officer is said to be attached to VIP.
