In what will excite many parents and students, especially those who want to read humanities in the Colleges of Education, Ishaq Oloyede has advocated that mathematics as a subject is unnecessary.
Professor Oloyede who is the registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, disclosed this on Tuesday, February 23, in Abuja.
Also, he warned Provosts of Colleges of Education against the conduct of illegal admissions, Nigerian Tribune reports.

Recall that president of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COASU), Comrade Nuhu Ogirima, had earlier insisted that somebody who wants to undergo any course in Humanities does not require mathematics for anything since such an individual would have acquired the basics at the basic and secondary levels of education.

The examination body made the sum of N2,272,681,643:00 in one week of selling forms to admission seekers in the nation’s tertiary institutions.
Legit.ng gathered that this was contained in the weekly newsletter of the board detailing some of its activities from January 17-23, 2020, obtained by the medium.
Meanwhile, the federal government has given a fresh update of the reopening of tertiary institutions in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic
It said all schools, including tertiary institutions, would reopen only when it is safe to do so.
