Nigerian Air Force reacts to military plane crash, discloses number of onboard casualties

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said all the seven personnel on board in the Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft which crashed while returning to the Abuja Airport died.
Air Vice-Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, NAF director of public relation and information, made this known in a statement on Sunday, February 21.
Legit.ng had reported earlier that the minister of aviation Hadi Sirika announced the plane crash in a tweet, saying it crashlanded after experiencing an engine failure on way to Minna, Niger state.

Ibikunle said the chief of air staff, Air Vice-Marshal I O Amao, has ordered an investigation into this tragic development as he commiserated with the families of the deceased.
"This is to confirm that a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to the Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. First responders are at the scene. Sadly, all 7 personnel on board died in the crash.
"The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident. While urging the general public to remain calm & await the outcome of investigation, the CAS, on behalf of all NAF personnel, commiserates with the families of the deceased," he said in a tweet.
A Nigerian prayed for the deceased
"We pray for eternal rest for their souls. May Allah spare them of their shortcomings and accept them as Martyr. My condolences to our Armed Forces and the families of our heroes/heroines who lost their lives in the course of providing safety for all of us."

Meanwhile, a fuel tanker on Wednesday early morning, December 2, 2020, exploded at the Magboro section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident is said to have caused heavy traffic at Magboro, outward Lagos-Ibadan expressway keeping many commuters on standstill.
