A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olusoga David, has said Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state has all the qualities to be Nigeria’s president.
David who serves as Fayemi’s special adviser on political matters told The Tribune in an interview that APC stakeholders in Ekiti are rooting for the governor to become president.
He said:
He has the competence, patriotic character, courage and the right connections. These are the main qualities that stand him out as a national leader and would-be ‘first citizen of Nigeria. He is a very cerebral leader with a track record and a destiny, the hope of the youth in Nigeria.''
David stated that Fayemi has endeared himself to stakeholders from across the country through his intervention in the Osun State governorship election, his chairmanship of the presidential primary that produced President Buhari, and his developmental projects in Ekiti state.
The politician said:
‘’You see he has turned every village in Ekiti into construction sites. He has renovated schools and provided superior infrastructures in all towns and villages of Ekiti State.

However, Fayemi has not openly declared his intentions to contest in the 2023 presidential election.
Meanwhile, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun state, has stated that the opposition party would defeat the ruling APC).
