The families and friends of the new acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, can now have it easy as he has received his promotion letter.
Specifically, he has been promoted to the rank of Chief Detective Superintendent.
This comes ahead of his Senate screening and amid a lawsuit challenging his qualification for the job, Punch Newspaper reports.

The news outlet reports that Section 2 of the EFCC Act states that a person who will be appointed as chairman of the commission must have at least 15 years experience and must be the rank of an Assistant Commissioner of Police or its equivalent.
When he was appointed by President Buhari, he was on Grade Level 13 and a Deputy Chief Detective Superintendent.
With the new promotion, Bawa is now qualified to take on the new job.
In another report, Ibrahim Magu has reacted to the appointment of Abdulrasheed Bawa as his successor by President Muhammadu Buhari, with the embattled former anti-graft czar describing the development as shocking.
Bawa, a 40-year-old trained EFCC prosecutor, was on Tuesday, February 16, appointed the substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a letter addressed to the Nigerian Senate.
Reacting through his lawyer Tosin Ojaomo, Magu said the "appointment came to me as a shock" as justice has not been served in respect to the allegations of power abuse levelled against him.
Legit.ng also reported that with corruption allegation ushering in a new leadership of the EFCC the anti-graft body defended its newly appointed chairman Bawa.
In a statement by the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, the commission absolved Bawa of any wrongdoing, adding that the new anti-graft czar has no corruption record.
Uwujaren described as "illogical" the reports that Bawa was caught in the hook corruption and was made to face a disciplinary panel.
