Lai Mohammed is a failure, anything he says is considered a lie, says APC chieftain

- An APC chieftain, Yekini Nabena has described the spokesman of the Nigerian government, Lai Mohammed as a monumental failure

- Nabena, the deputy national publicity secretary of the party, said the minister is living in the past

- The verbal attack by Nabena is in response to a statement by the minister calling him an impostor

The deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Yekini Nabena, has described the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed as a total failure in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nabena also said time has left the Kwara-born minister behind in the scheme of things in the ruling APC.

According to the APC chieftain, Alhaji Mohammed can no longer catch up with time unless he works with his state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara.

Nabena made the comments in response to a statement issued by Alhaji Mohammed where the minister called him an impostor.

The minister was responding to Nabena's advice, asking him to work with his state governor and allow peace to reign in the ongoing nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise of the party.

In a statement sent to Legit.ng on Wednesday, February 17, Nabena said:

“Lai Mohammed should go back to his state chapter (Kwara) if he is still relevant there and work with the governor and other stakeholders for his voice to be heard at the national level."
“The details of evil plans to destroy the APC by the likes of the minister has been exposed and the party leadership is fully aware.
“At the right time, Lai Mohammed and his gang will be exposed and Nigerians will then know the real impostor, that time is sooner.

“Time has left Lai Mohammed behind and he can't catch up with time. Lai Mohammed and his fifth columnists are the biggest problems of this administration.
“As the minister of information and culture that suppose to explain the policies and programmes, including the remarkable achievements of this administration to Nigerians, Lai Mohammed has failed woefully.
“Whatever he says is considered a lie. If not, Lai should tell Nigerians what has been his contributions in the last five years.”

Meanwhile, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has declared that Nigerians will vote for the APC again in the 2023 general elections.

Governor Uzodinma made the comment during an interview with a television station on Wednesday, February 3, adding that the party is becoming increasingly popular across the country.

On his part, Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi, declared that everyone in the southeast wants to join the APC.

The governor made the comment on Wednesday, February 10 when he visited the APC secretariat in Abuja to meet with the caretaker committee chairman of the party and Yobe state governor, Mai Bala Buni.
