Napoli recorded consecutive league wins against Juventus for the first time in ten years following a 1-0 win over the defending champions.

The match which was played at the Estadio Diego Maradona saw Lorenzo Insigne score the only goal of the match from the penalty spot.

It was a cagey affair in the opening 20 minutes as both sides failed to get off the mark in the game.

The breaking point of the match came in the 30th minute as Giorgio Chiellini out stretched hand hit the face of Amir Rrahmani while contesting for a set-piece.

The Kosovan defender went to ground holding his face as the referee had a second look at the VAR before awarding a penalty and booked the Juve captain.

Insigne converted the resulting spot-kick as he put the ball in the roof of the net to make it 1-0 for Gennaro Gattuso's men.

The side from Naples took a one-goal lead into the second half as Juve's three-match winning run was a stake.

Federico Chiesa's shot went wide as Cristiano Ronaldo forced a fine save from Alex Meret with Napoli hanging on all through the game.

Meret also produced a fine save from Alvaro Morata as Jthe Bianconeri could not break through the defence as the match ended 1-0.

Juventus' title hopes have no suffered a huge setback following their third loss of the season as they slip further from the leading side AC Milan and Inter Milan.
