Popular actor and former wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson used to play college football in his day and some details have come to light about the value of his college rookie card.

Before Dwayne became a wrestler and a highly sought-after actor, he used to play college football at the University of Miami and he had actually hoped that he would play in the NFL one day.

The Super Bowl took place last night and some good news came Dwayne's way. He revealed that his college football rookie card sold for N17.1 million ($45,000) after a total of 50 bids.

Dwayne took to social media to share the good news with his fans and followers:

"This story of how my University of Miami football card's value continues to rise has become so surreal to me," he said.

The actor said that it was his dream to play in the NFL and the Super Bowl but neither dream came true for him. By saying this, he expressed that he was delighted in any case that his rookie card sold for such a high price.

"I never made it as a player to the big dance, so this humbling irony is not lost on me one bit," said Dwayne.
