Governor Seyi Makinde has left the official WhatsApp platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor left the platform over issues he has with the publicity secretary of the party, Akeem Olatunji.

The issue started when Olatunji demanded an explanation over a viral video in which suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked the people of Ayete, headquarters of Ibarapa north local government area.

“Every time some idiots makes (sic) a video, the government must respond… I don’t get it really… you need mature people to make meaningful contributions on your platform.”

Olatunji also incurred the rage of the governor after he posted another story regarding allegations of violence at the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) membership revalidation/registration.

He wrote:

“Several injured as APC members fight over registration in Oyo state.”

Governor Makinde asked:

“What is the relevance of this on the PDP official platform?”

He then exited the platform, PM News reports.

Recall that Legit.ng reported that Makinde called for caution over the uproar generated by the seven days quit notice given to the Fulani herdsmen in the state by the Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Legit.ng reports that the governor in a thread of tweets on Wednesday, January 27, noted that after a meeting with the representatives of Igangan, Ibarapaland and the state commissioner of police, Ngozi Onadeko, his administration came up with a security strategy for that zone.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that barely 24 hours after some Fulani leaders apologised to the people of Oyo state over some crimes by some herders, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders of Nigeria in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Jiji, called for the arrest of Sunday Igboho.

It was reported that Jiji asked Governor Makinde to arrest Igboho without any further delay.

The Yoruba rights activist had ordered herdsmen to vacate Igangan in Ibarapa North local government over incessant kidnap and molestation of women in the area.
