List of Nigeria's private universities as FG approves 20 new ones
The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, February 3, approved 20 new private universities to be cited in different parts of the country.

The resolution was made after Adamu Adamu, the minister of education presented a memo before the council.
Prior to the approval, Nigeria has 79 private universities. With the latest development, the country now has 99 private universities.

In other news, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos state, has approved the reduction of the tuition fees for the state-owned university, Lagos State University, (LASU).
The governor's special adviser on education, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on Friday, January 29, via his official Twitter handle.
Wahab added that the approval was in line with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to providing qualitative education at an affordable price to everyone, irrespective of class, gender, ethnicity, race, among others.
