There are concerns about the future of England 21 star Eberechi Eze as reports claim the Crystal Palace winger could earn a national team call up to prevent Nigeria from grabbing him.
He has a personal decision over the situation and Palace manager Roy Hodgson has stated that the player is now ‘ripe’ to play for the senior national team.
Eze is eligible for England but also Nigeria, who have approached the 22-year-old and whose officials are in touch with the Crystal Palace starlet almost every week.
For now, and publicly, Eze has sidestepped the subject as smoothly as he evaded Leander Dendoncker before smashing in his third eye-catching Palace goal to beat Wolves.
Palace' boss Hodgson said:
"Like Jack Grealish before him, who I needed to try to persuade was good enough to play for England and give that a chance, I'd certainly say the same to Eberechi Eze at the moment."
Eberechi Eze was the star of the show again as his goal proved to be the match-winner in Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League.
Jordan Ayew set up the 22-year-old who opened up his body to displace Conor Coady and shot past Rui Patricio from outside of the 18-yard box.
Eze has now taken his tally in the English topflight division to three and all of them have been scored at Selhurst Park.
The win has now taken Roy Hodgson's side to 13th position with 26 points on the Premier League table this season.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Premier League side West Brom are reportedly considering to sign Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa this month in order for the Nigerian to help their quest of escaping relegation to second tier.
Sam Allardyce and his wards have not been finding it rosy this term in the Premier League and they are currently occupying 19th position on the table with just two wins after 19 games.
Musa is expected to team up with West Brom on Monday, January 25, and the former Leicester City striker will train with the side for a week before any deal can be done.
