The 47-year-old German-born tactician avoided a losing start at Stamford Bridge but what he could not do without was pronouncing a player’s name wrongly and it was caught live on TV.
A short video clip shows that the former Paris Saint Germain handler may need a little more time to get himself familiar with the players to call their names correctly.

The footage showed the manager at the start of the second half of his side's game against Wolves handing captain Cesar Azpilicueta an instruction.
While the Spaniard took the coach's instruction before returning to the pitch, Christian Pulisic - who was given his debut at Borussia Dortmund by the German was heard explaining how the defender’s nickname is “Azpi” as reported by Daily Star.
The forward had to mention it three times for the manager before they both laugh it off and return to the bench for the second half to kick off.
This footage was shared on Reddit, where the Blues faithful saw the funny side of the awkward moment and some of the fans are already showing their admiration for the Blues boss.
One supporter said:
“Love Tuchel already - seems like such a cool guy."
Another commented:
"Glad to see everyone seems fairly comfortable with the new manager.”
While a third jokingly suggested:
“Just call him Dave.”
And Tuchel also shared details about the pair’s conversation in his post-match interview. The new Blues boss said:
"He [Pulisic] did amazing and at half-time, he told me ‘hey coach, you are pronouncing the name wrong of Azpi’. And he helped me with that so that a big help and that’s why we were laughing.”
Chelsea return to action on the last day of this month as they welcome Burnley to Stamford Bridge in a bid to revive their season in a bid to finish strong at the end of the season.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea's new boss Thomas Tuchel has stated that it is almost impossible for the Blues to win the Premier League title this season, adding that a top-four finish might also be beyond them.
He was appointed the west Londoners' new boss on Tuesday, January 26, replacing Frank Lampard who was sacked earlier on Monday.
Lampard's axing came on the backdrop of Chelsea's poor run of results especially in the domestic scene that saw them slip to ninth on the standings.
