Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu on Wednesday night, January 27, continued with his impressive form this season for Genk as he scored a brace in their 3-2 win over Zulte-Waregem.
The Super Eagles star has so far this season established himself as one of the best strikers in the world considering his superb performances for Genk.
Onuachu was handed his 21st League start of the campaign pairing Junya Ito in attack and utilised the opportunity to increase his tally for the Belgian giants.
Two teams started the match impressively, but they were unable to score any goal despite superb display from both sides in the first 35 minutes.
Paul Onuachu gave Genk the lead before the end of the first half with an incredible goal and the Super Eagles man netted his brace in the 52nd minute after a great assist from Bryan Heynen.
Ito made it three goals for Genk in the 67th minute which seemed to awake Zulte-Waregem as they launched an attempted comeback after the Japanese's strike.
Onuachu and his teammates at Genk are now occupying second position on the League table behind leaders Club Brugge after gathering 42 points from 24 games.
Genk will be facing Mechelen in their next game on Saturday, January 30, in which Paul Onuachu is expected to start for the team.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League side West Brom are considering to sign Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa this month in order for the Nigerian to help their quest of escaping relegation to second tier.
Sam Allardyce and his wards have not been finding it rosy this term in the Premier League and they are currently occupying 19th position on the table with just two wins after 19 games.
Since leaving the Saudi Arabian League last year, Ahmed Musa has been with his family and friends in Jos and he is preparing to join another club.
According to the report, Ahmed Musa is expected to team up with West Brom on Monday, January 25, and the former Leicester City striker will train with the side for a week before any deal can be done.
