Following the circulation of campaign posters of Governor Nyesom Wike in Abuja, the Rivers state government has distanced itself from the flyers for the 2023 presidential race, The Guardian reports.
A statement by Paulinus Nsirim, the commissioner for information and communication, stated that the posters were the hand work of mischief-makers who are threatened by Wike’s rising political profile.
Legit.ng recalls that two different types of presidential campaign posters bearing the name and pictures of the Rivers governor were spotted in Abuja, on Monday, January 25.
According to Nsirim, the Rivers state governor has not informed anyone of his interest in the presidency of this country.
