The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is planning to push for the restructuring through unconstitutional and illegal means, Osita Okechukwu has alleged.
According to the director of Voice of Nigeria (VON), the opposition party is using the situation of the country especially in the aspect of security to gain power.
Okechukwu, who spoke via a statement on Sunday, January 24, also berated the PDP, saying the opposition side is "on deceptive power-grabbing binge by aligning with Pull-Down-the-Roof crowd."
The founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also stated that President Muhammadu Buhari did not renege on restructuring as the PDP tried to confuse Nigerians, The Nation reports.
According to him, the executive order 10 issued by the president which gave financial autonomy to the state legislature and judiciary is "number one" step towards restructuring of the country.
He was quoted as saying:
"Mr President did not renege on restructuring. Executive Order 10 is Number One restructuring.
"To be honest, it seems the PDP wants to pull down the roof. They want to harvest the general insecurity and hunger in the land to deceptively capture power by all means."
