7 Nigerian celebrities who have cheated death in January 2021

The year 2021 started out on a low but hopeful note for so many people all over the world considering how the year 2020 was a tough one for most people.

While the year 2020 was trailed with a lot of bad news, people were glad to go into the New Year without any trouble and hoped for it to continue that way.

However, while some people were lucky to survive the year 2020, they also cheated death in 2021 which is just about three weeks old.

The month of January has been trailed with news of some celebrities who have had things happen to them.

Some of them were involved in car crashes, others totally lost their vehicles while some of them contracted the dreaded COVID-19.

1. Shola Ogudu:

Top Nigerian singer, Wizkid’s first baby mama, Shola Ogudu, was involved in a car crash and she took to social media on January 8 to share the bad news.

The socialite shared photos of her totalled Toyota Camry car and fans could not help but marvel at the damage that had taken place. Fans were glad to see that she and her son, Tife, were doing fine.

2. Binta Diallo:

Nigerian star, Wizkid’s Guinean second baby mama, Binta Diallo, was also moved to share that she was also involved in a car crash after the singer’s first baby mama recounted her ordeal.

Diallo explained that she had no intention of talking about her accident on social media because it wasn't as serious. She, however, changed her mind about it after Ogudu shared hers - both of which happened on the same day.

3. Ali Baba:

Veteran Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba, was also down with the deadly coronavirus. He revealed on social media that he spent New Year’s Day in isolation. He also used the opportunity to warn those who weren’t taking the news of the virus seriously.

4. Cindy Okafor:

BBNaija 2019 star, Cindy Okafor, also had a close shave with death when she was involved in a car accident on her 25th birthday.

The reality star shared a photo of a badly dented car on her social media page. She said the accident could have cost her life. Even though she sustained a few bruises, there were no major injuries.

5. Soso Soberekon:

Nigerian talent manager, Soso, was also one of the lucky ones who survived after coming in harm’s way.

He shared videos on social media of his damaged BMW car as he was lucky to come out unscathed. To show his appreciation to God, the socialite penned down a caption where he thanked Him for sparing his life.

6. BBNaija's Alex:

The reality show star was full of thanks after she also survived a car accident in January 2021.

In the post which has been yanked off her page, Alex submitted that the devil tried his ways on her. The ex-BBNaija housemate, however, noted that she tasted the power of the almighty God.

7. Ayobami Daniel:

The fast-rising actor suffered a great loss in the month of January but was lucky to escape with his life.

The movie star’s car was at the scene of a tanker explosion in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
