The final funeral details of late former president Jerry John Rawlings has finally been revealed and it is expected to start on Sunday, January 24, 2021, with a requiem mass at the Holy Spirit Cathedral.

J.J Rawlings gave up the ghost on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Korle-Bu Teaching hospital in Accra barely a week after being admitted on the grounds of 'short term' illness. Unconfirmed reports suggest his death was caused by COVID-19.

According to details on the programme of the state funeral, seen by Legit.ng on dailycelebritiesnewdotorg, late Flt. Lt. Rawlings who was the first Ghananian President of the 4th republic would be laid in state for 3 days.

The filing past would be done in a unique order with the general public getting the chance to view the body on the first day.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported how Former president Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday, July 10, proved that leadership skills are taught by example during the burial of his mother-in-law at Remo, Isara Remo, Ogun.

According to Obasanjo's media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, the former president strictly observed the stipulated coronavirus safety protocols at the burial of late Florence Mopelola Adenekan, the mother of Chief Bola Obasanjo, which took place at the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion in the state.

Akinyemi, in a statement made available to Legit.ng, disclosed that Obasanjo personally shut the doors of the church, as the service, presided over by the Archibishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Bishop of Remo Diocese, Most Rev Dr M.O Fape commence around 10.30am, leaving even acquaintances outside, despite the fact that they had their face masks on.

The media aide stated that after the service, the former president "paid homage to the four traditional rulers at Ode and Isara areas of the local government.
