Tinubu ‘most qualified’ to succeed Buhari in 2023, says Oluwo of Iwo

- The reported ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023 has gotten a major boost

- A prominent monarch in the southwest region of the country has declared his support for Tinubu

- The monarch stated that Tinubu is the most qualified politician to succeed incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari

The Oluwo of Iwo in Osun state, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has described Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the most qualified politician to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The monarch made the comment while speaking at the launching of South-West Agenda (SWAGA) in Osogbo, Osun state on Tuesday, January 19.

He said Tinubu is a visionary leader who has all it takes to rule to succeed the president in 2023, even as he encouraged Yorubas to always rally round their leaders.

Vanguard quoted him as saying:

“No one is as qualified as Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu who remains a visionary leader and a great achiever. Only a misled son of Yoruba would not support this cause.
“Who else has that capacity to run for 2023 poll in Southwest. we should all push him to be greater than Awolowo so that his legacy could go on.”

Meanwhile, members of the Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (SWAGA) have prevailed on an elder statesman, Chief Bisi Akande to compel Tinubu to contest for the 2023 presidential election.

The group made the demand when they paid the APC chieftain a visit at Ila, Osun state, to felicitate with him on his 82nd birthday.

In a related development, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has declared that it has no problem with power returning to the southern region.

ACF’s national publicity secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, made the position of the forum known, saying the north is ready to support southerners succeed President Buhari.

ACF, however, said that it will not interfere in a matter that has to do with political parties or support a particular zone or candidate for the presidency in 2023.

The forum described as wrong the impression that northerners will never back a candidate from the southern part of the country.
