Nigerian football star Joel Obi is the latest father in town after announcing the arrival of his baby girl on social media.

The 29-year-old midfielder who was part of the Super Eagles squad that went to the 2018 FIFA World Cup staged in Russia expressed great joy while sharing the news.

Obi, who failed to make any appearance at the global football showpiece three years ago made an adorable welcome-to-the-world comments for the little princess. He said on Instagram with over 38k followers:

This is the third time the attacking midfielder is becoming a father having already given birth to a boy and a girl earlier in his career.

The former Inter Milan and Torino star has featured four times for his Serie B outfit this campaign with an assist credited to his name.

Obi has not been invited to the national team camp since the 2018 World Cup and it is left to be seen if the manager will give him another chance.

The midfielder's highest achievement was winning the Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana and the FIFA Club World Cup between 2010 and 2011.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Joel Obi reported a case of racism by an opponent during Chievo's Serie B match against Pisa in midweek.

Pisa and the player in question Michele Macroni have denied claims alleged by the Nigerian international.
