The simple reason the president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, has three Nigerians in his would-be cabinet is because the latter's citizens abroad are hardworking, Geoffrey Onyeama, has said.
Onyeama, who is the foreign affairs minister in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, says the appointment of the three Nigerians negates the views of some people about citizens of the West African country who are in the diaspora.
Legit.ng recently listed Osaremen Okolo, Adewale Adeyemo and Funmi Badejo as the three Nigerians appointed into the next administration after Donald Trump, who was defeated in an election held weeks ago.

Daily Trust quoted the minister, who reacted, as saying:
"Mr Joe Biden, the in-coming US President, has three Nigerians in his new cabinet. It shows that Nigerians are thriving - doing well wherever they are. Nigerians should continue to demonstrate their talents wherever they go."
The report noted that Onyeama spoke in Enugu during the flagging off of the Public Service Works (PWS), a programme of the Buhari administration to get youths of the country empowered.
The minister argued:
“Most of the black doctors, scientists, who are doing well abroad are Nigerians.”
He further recalled how he once went to the Caribbean Island (Jamaica) and was surprised to find that one of the best hospitals in that country "is owned by a Nigerian, an indigene of Enugu state."
He said:
“Nigeria is blessed with every good thing. All we need is good leadership."
Onyeama added:
“It hurts me how Nigerian youths are being trafficked to other countries where they are seeking for greener pasture, where some of them die without getting the greener pasture; hence this empowerment targeting at the young people of this country.”
According to him, the Buhari administration is working hard to discourage the movement of Nigerians to other countries where they could face more hardships.
