Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford was moved by Alex Ferguson's tribute after he became the youngest player to receive the Football Writers' Association's annual tribute awards.

The 23-year-old's campaign to eradicate child poverty earned him the accolade after feeding millions of school children in Manchester.

After the legendary 79-year-old manager Ferguson made the tribute to Rashford, he responded after receiving the awards:

The England international is the youngest person to receive the accolade following his help to fight child poverty during the global pandemic.

The 23-year-old teamed up with a couple of food store giants to deliver free meals to children who were no longer receiving free school meals.

Legit.ng also reported that Manchester United forward Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player for the Month of December, Sport Bible.

It is the 26-year-old's fourth accolade since joining the Red Devils in the 2020 January transfer window.

The Portuguese star has so far contributed immensely to United's rise to staying on top of the league table ahead of their fiercest rivals Liverpool.
