Self-taught young man with talent wows the public with artwork

- A young painter has taken the art of painting to another level entirely

People are known to paint for diverse reasons and for a young gun it is a means to raising awareness.

Harare-based painter, Ricky Dampers, is a wildlife artist who seeks to raise awareness for animal care through his wildlife paintings.

Dampers, whose skills are self-taught, discovered his talents way back in junior school. His love for wildlife films further endeared him to the art of scribbling with brush on paper.

In an interview with Standard Style seen by Legit.ng, the talented young man said his artworks highlight the beauty and splendor inherent in wildlife.

"My artworks act as a mirror of wildlife beauty and reflects this splendor to the people. I am against cruelty to animal and poaching, so i also use my art as an anti-poaching awareness tool."

Dampers who hopes to have his own wildlife art gallery in the nearest future says his love for animals inspire him to paint.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported how an Anambra man identified as Nwobu became the first black man to showcase his art work in the Philipines.

Nwobu who is a graduate of Business Education as well as an art teacher revealed that he was moved to carry out the solo exhibition because of his passion to inspire people to chase their dreams.

He also added that his need to “drive positive change in using arts to transform people’s lives” was also a motivation. The artist also admonished people who love his work to “discover the reason to become better and attain higher.”
