Rapper Lil Kesh shares how he broke free from depression, encourages others

The conversation around depression has picked up on social media again and indigenous rapper, Lil Kesh, had a word to share with people going through the mental health disorder.
The rapper in a post shared on his official Twitter page encouraged those who are fighting the disorder to open up to people around them.
Lil Kesh went on to note that activities such as meditation, healthy eating, exercising, sleeping and prayer can go a long way in helping them feel better.
According to the rapper, these activities can make it easier to turn away from the negative voices in their head.
In a different portion of his tweet, the rapper disclosed that he has also battled depression. Lil Kesh said he was able to come out victorious by fighting for his happiness.
"If you’re depressed talk to someone, meditate if you can, eat healthy , exercise often, get enough sleep, pray and ignore those negative voices in your head.....that was how I fought for my happiness. Fight!"

The post elicited mixed reactions from his Twitter fans and followers.
A lady while responding wrote:
"It ain't that easy for everyone you know. Some get depressed cos that can't even afford some of these things y'all mentioned here. You can't really know what's going on in the mind of depressed person except they talk."
Another follower who shared his experience wrote:
"When I tell people how depressed I get, many don't believe cos I am the funny and lively guy. But most often these jokes come out of saddest of my inner "Me". Thank God I fought it and I overcame."
