Following concerns about how operatives of the State Security Network Agency known as Amotekun carry out their operations, Fatai Owoseni has said there is nothing wrong with officers empowering themselves with charms or other ways.
Owoseni who is the special adviser on security matters to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, made the disclosure while speaking on PUNCH's Online interview programme, The Roundtable, on Wednesday, January 13.
The governor's aide's statement is coming on the heels of allegations of recklessness and extrajudicial killings leveled against the southwest security outfit.
According to the former police commissioner, everyone uses either charm, Bible, or Qur’an to protect themselves.
The governor’s aide when asked if Amotekun operatives empower themselves with charms, he explained that he can't answer because he is not an officer of the security unit.
