The decision of the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sack the Kwara state chapter chairman, Bashir Bolarinwa, has sparked revolt from some party power blocks.
Persons said to be loyal to Lai Mohammed and the minister of state for transportation, Gbemi Saraki, have kicked against the verdict delivered by the Mai Mala Buni-led committee, Vanguard reports.
To make the situation worse, one of the leaders of the factions, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, has pointed accusing fingers at Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak as being behind the ensuing crisis in Kwara APC.
In a statement, Oyedepo warned the governor that he will not be much of a problem to unseat if the former Senate president, Bukola Saraki, a more formidable force, was brought down.
Raining allegations on the governor, Oyedepo said:
“He leads without consultation. He has pocketed the state assembly and we do not want him to pocket the party structure, otherwise, there will be a totalitarian regime in the state.
“We fought the war of O’toge and he played the least role and we have told him that if we could remove an Iroko tree, it will not take us anything to remove a shrub.
“Gbemi Saraki and Lai Mohammed are with us. They are fully with us. They are not with the governor and we are telling the whole world openly."
However, a key supporter of Governor Abdulrazak, Kunle Suleiman, has backed the sacking of Bolarinwa.

Earlier, it was reported that the crisis rocking the Kwara state chapter of the APC on Thursday, December 10, 2020, took another twist as two of President Muhammadu Buhari's ministers kicked against the move by AbdulRazaq to control the party.
Mohammed, Saraki, and other stakeholders in APC berated the governor for his efforts to stop Bolarinwa from being recognised as the chairman of the state caretaker committee.
