Laori Kwamoti, an Adamawa lawmaker representing Numan/Lamurde/Demsa constituency in the House of Representatives, has decried how President's Muhammadu Buhari's aides damaged his image.
The lawmaker made his position known on Tuesday, January 12, in Yola, adding that the aides of the president have done a lot of damage to his government also.
According to him, the excessive and highly unguided statements and reactions of most of the president's media handlers have "reduced Nigeria to a laughing stock.”
Kwamoti, who also submitted that Nigeria is placing individual and institution above law, warned that the country will move backwards if maladministration persists, The Guardian reports.

He further stressed that Nigerians should not expect any positive change from the present government unless Buhari brings onboard people with integrity and focus.
“Look at this; the President told the whole world that he was going to appear before a joint session of the National Assembly, only for some of his incompetent aides to come out to say that we (National Assembly members) didn’t have constitutional powers to invite the President. Is that not shameful?
“A country where individuals are stronger than the courts, police, army and other institutions that are pillars of democracy cannot go anywhere; it will continue going backwards.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that for demanding the impeachment of President Buhari, the House of Representatives vowed to take disciplinary action against one of its lawmakers Kingsley Chinda.
Chinda, leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus, had on Monday, December 7, 2020, called for Buhari's impeachment following the overwhelming reactions that trailed the killing of rice farmers in Zabarmari and the security situation in the north.
But speaking during a plenary on Monday, December 21, House majority leader, Ado Doguwa, distanced the PDP from Chinda's statement.
