American pastors prayed for Trump before Biden’s certification

- Before Joe Biden's election victory was confirmed by the US Senate, there were hopes that his win will be overturned in favour of President Donald Trump

- On the day the confirmation of Biden's win was delivered, some American pastors were earnestly praying for Trump at the White House

- The hope was that there might be a divine intervention that will help Trump emerge the winner in the end

Hours before the invasion of Capitol Hill in Washington DC many of President Donald Trump's supporters, the United States (US)'s leader was being prayed for by a group of pastors in the White House.

The prayers, offered on Wednesday, January 6, were aimed at helping Trump overcome the travails and ordeals he has been through especially after the last presidential election (which did not end well for him), and perhaps by divine intervention overturned the outcome of the poll.

In a video clip shared by two of those pastors on their joint Twitter page, @DiamondandSilk, Trump was seen closing his eyes intently while the Christian clerics laid their hands on his shoulders in prayer.

However, just a few hours after this session, the US Senate confirmed and certified Joe Biden's Electoral College victory.

This was, of course, came on the heels of Capitol Hill invasion by many pro-Trump supporters, a development that attracted mixed reactions from nations that have been seen as allies of the US.

Moreover, o the same day, Trump allegedly mounted pressure on Republican lawmakers to reverse the wish of the American electorate.

Meanwhile, Trump had finally made a u-turn, with the US president promising on an orderly transition of power on January 20.

The embattled and enraged president made this known in a statement he released on Thursday, January 7, after Biden was officially certified as the next president of the US.

Trump, however, maintained that he "totally disagrees with the outcome of the election", adding that he will pursue justice even after leaving office.
