On the eventful morning of January 7, 2020, over 270 members of parliament-elects were sworn into office as full MPs, and part of that number were two brothers.

Interestingly, Samuel Abu Jinapor stood on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party for the Damango Constituency and won with over 15,000 votes representing 53.49% of total votes cast.

Samuel's elder brother, John Abdulai Jinapor, on the other hand, stood on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress for the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency and won with a whopping 58.43% of total votes cast.

John is just 41 years old whilst his biological brother Samuel is right behind him with only 37 years but both of them have served in enviable capacities in the country.

John was the deputy minister for power spokesperson of John Dramani Mahama back in the day and his brother has been the deputy chief of staff special aide to Nana Akufo-Addo.

It is unclear why the two brothers decided to pursue politics in directly opposite political parties but what is clear is that it appears to be working for them both.
