Babangida Nguroje: I am in deep grief, says Buhari

The tragedy that befell the family of Babangida Nguroje, the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, came as a terrible shock to many of his friends, acquaintances, and colleagues.

Even President Muhammadu Buhari, upon hearing the sad news of how Ngouroje lost seven of his family members in an auto crash on Sunday, January 10, was emotionally pained, PM News reports.

Reacting to the calamity, President Buhari at a point in his brief condolence message mentioned that he was lost for words to describe his feelings.

“I received the news of this tragedy with deep shock and grief, and wish to express my heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with you at this trying and painful moment.
“I am lost for words to describe such multiple deaths in a single car accident in which family members perished.”

The president in his prayer called on Allah to forgive the souls of the departed and comfort the bereaved.

Earlier, Nguroje lost seven members of his family in a road accident.

The accident happened along Akwanga-Keffi road in Nasarawa state on the night of Saturday, January 9.

Legit.ng gathered that the family members were reportedly returning to Abuja from a trip to Taraba when the tragic incident occurred.

The report had it that two sisters of Nguroje, their four children and one of the in-laws of the former lawmaker all died in the accident.
