Pele has denied changing his bio on Instagram shortly after Cristiano Ronaldo beat his goalscoring record, Sport Bible.
Fans pointed out the adjustment made on the legendary Brazilian footballer's account and came under heavy criticisms.
The account showed Pele had put 1,283 goals he claimed he scored was not documented as against the 757 recognised goals.

On the day Juventus defeated Udinese by 4-1, Ronaldo scored a brace which took his career tally to 758, one above Pele's long-standing record.

However, the Santos legend commented on Twitter that he did not make any changes or whatsoever.
"I was accused by the press of having changed my Instagram bio to overshadow these big stars that are breaking my records.
"The bio text has always been the same since I joined the platform. None of this should distract us from your incredible achievements."
The 80-year-old recently congratulated Lionel Messi after scoring his 644th goal for Barcelona which made him the player with most goals for one club, surpassing Pele's strikes for Santos.
But Santos released a statement stating that Pele scored 1091 goals and is still the player with the most goals
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Pele upgrades his Instagram bio to 1,283 goals after Cristiano Ronaldo broke his 757 official strikes in Juventus colours.
The Portuguese scored a brace in the Bianconeri's 4-1 over Udinese as the 35-year-old made it 758 career goals displacing the great Pele by one goal.
There has always been controversy regarding Pele's number of goals which was not officially documented as the football legend adjusted his bio to 1,283 goals on Instagram.
Legit.ng also reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is now the second man with the highest number of goals in football following his brace against Udinese in the Italian Serie A on January 3.
The Juventus striker found the back of the net twice in the highly entertaining fixture which ended 4-1 for the Old Lady.
Both goals ensured Ronaldo overtook legendary Pele in the all-time goal scorers’ chart with the 35-year-old now on 758 while the Brazilian icon had 757 during his famous career between 1956 and 1977 for Santos, New York Cosmos and Brazil.
