Legit.ng gathers that the APC chieftain made this known on Monday, January 4, in Kaduna state.

The former senator advised the leadership of the APC to avoid a costly mistake in the choice of a presidential candidate and running mate.

Though he said the agitation for a power shift to the southeast is in order, the APC chieftain argued that it is morally right to give it to the southwest because of the support the zone gave to President Buhari in the last election.

Nevertheless, the APC the chieftain said the most deserving of the presidency in 2023 is the northeast followed by the southeast as they have not produced the nation's president before.

He explained that the reason why he supports the southwest is because of a gentlemen's agreement and the role the zone played in the emergence of Buhari as Nigeria's president.
