COVID-19: Tinubu hospitalised in France, says spokesman

- The strong man of APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been admitted in an undisclosed hospital in France

- The news has led some persons to think that the APC national leader has tested positive for COVID-19

- However Tinubu's media aide, Tunde Rahman, has denied the report and described it as inaccurate

Emerging report that has been confirmed indicate that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been hospitalised in Paris, France.

This was revealed by Tinubu's spokesman, Tunde Rahman who spoke with The Cable on the APC leader's whereabouts and health status.

It was gathered that the ruling party's stalwart had complained of exhaustion and travelled to France for his usual annual holiday.

Rahman, however, denied claims that his principal is down with COVID-19, a report which has already spread on social media like wildfire.

The aide said:

“He took his annual trip and as part of the preparation for the trip he took a COVID-19 test which was negative. Since the advent of the pandemic Asiwaju has always done his level best to observe, as strictly as humanly possible, all government advice and safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus and to keep himself and those around him safe from harm.
“This has not changed. Shortly before Christmas, he indeed travelled out of Nigeria for his annual holiday. This is something he does each year to give himself a chance to rest and reflect on the year just passed while also preparing for the challenges and opportunities of the one to come."

Meanwhile, Tinubu had said that the country would soon get rid of the novel coronavirus if people can have faith in God.

The former governor of Lagos state urged Nigerians to let kindness reign as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
