Recall that all members of the Kogi state House of Assembly recently called on Governor Bello to put his hat in the ring for the presidency in 2023.
According to the lawmakers, the governor ticked all the right boxes for the presidential seat and should be backed by all Nigerians to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.
Before then, the Kogi state commissioner for information and communication, Kingsley Fanwo, had announced on social media that Governor Bello was under pressure to contest the 2023 presidential race.
The commissioner went on to say the desire of Nigerians for a great country aligns with that of Governor Bello.
Meanwhile, amid calls from his associates to contest the 2023 presidential election, Governor Bello declared that he is focused on delivering his mandate of rebuilding Kogi state now.
He made the comment on Monday, December 21, 2019, at the security and economic summit of the Northcentral Governors Forum in Benue state.
