Ogbobula stated that the court’s ruling has provided the opportunity for the party to move forward.

He called for dedicated APC members to salvage the party from what he called mercantile politicians, This Day reported.

The party chieftain said:

“We must start to interrogate the policies, programmes and activities of state, and invariably the application of state resources. The people must consciously resist a situation where one man runs the show…”

In another news report, the APC has broken silence on the alleged attempts to lure Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state to join the party, with the ruling side describing the speculations as mere "rumours."

Making this disclosure is the Abia state chairman of the party, Donatus Nwankpa, who said the issue of the governor "defecting or not joining APC is immaterial" to it.

Nwankpa said there were no moves for Ikpeazu to dump his party for the ruling train, maintaining that he is not ready "to join issues with the governor."
